Did you know that incontinence doesn't affect just the elderly? True story.

Over 1.2 million Malaysians suffer in silence - maybe even someone you know! Don't let them suffer in silence, get educated about incontinence. You could help them live their life fully, and perhaps take steps to prevent yourself from the same condition too.

Incontinence, which is an involuntary leakage of urine and faeces. However, incontinence is not a symptom of old age. It affects people from all walks of life.

Did you ever notice that there are different types of incontinence?

The examples of incontinence are such as light urinary leakage, functional incontinence, stress incontinence, urge incontinence, and faecal incontinence. Anyway, don’t get panic with it, as incontinence can be treated and it can also be avoided with the right diagnosis as well.

There is a range of treatments to manage with the condition. For example, from surgery to pelvic floor muscle exercise, to something as simple as drinking less coffee. Incontinence should not be overlook as something that is too young or too old to learn to manage it better. If it is not recognized as a serious condition, then incontinence will continue causing serious impact on the quality of life of the sufferers and caregivers, as this is the truth of incontinent. Therefore, everyone has a role to play with.

Healthcare professionals can provide valuable advice, while caregivers can care for loved ones better at home.
